That’s okay — most still are. If you’re still making payments on your vehicle, your car’s title will be with your bank or lender. Just give them a call to talk through the loan payoff process!

But I’m still in my lease agreement.

We can help here, too. Give your lender a call and request the payoff amount. Once you’ve paid off your lease and transferred the ownership to yourself, you’re ready to sell your car!

CARFAX® Vehicle History Report™

One document that you could bring (or show us the downloaded file from your device) is the CARFAX® Vehicle History Report™, but only if you already have one on hand. Most run the CARFAX® on their vehicle when they’re selling on third-party websites, like Craigslist or Facebook marketplace. Others just provide the VIN and prospective buyers can run the CARFAX® themselves. If you already have the report, bring it with you to our office to speed along the process!

Warranty Documentation

If your vehicle is newer and it’s still covered under the many new vehicle warranties, bringing proof of its coverage will not only speed up the process, but it’ll increase its value if it's transferrable. If you no longer have the warranty paperwork, all we’ll need is the contact information of your warranty provider. If it’s just the manufacturer, don’t worry about it — we can contact them ourselves! Remember, these two documents are helpful, but not necessary to complete the sale of your vehicle.
