The SR, Sport, and TRD Sport are available with 6-speed manual transmission. The others have 8-speed automatic transmission. Both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive is available on select trims. The Tacoma has an incredible towing capacity that ranges from 3,500 to 6,400 depending on the model. The gas mileage for the Tacoma averages around 18 mpg city and 22 mpg highway.
